Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)

The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) shall be established for the purpose of overseeing all recombinant DNA experimentation that is conducted at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and other Lurie Children's affiliates, without regard to the source of funding. The IBC is responsible for recommending policies that will implement the National Institutes of Health Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant DNA Molecules (NIH Guidelines) to the Scientific Director and President and providing appropriate protection to the Lurie Children's community and the community at large.
